In Case you missed it... Autumn Newsletter October 2025

Hello friends!

It's official, Autumn is my absolute favourite time of year for photography. The light, the colours, the low sunshine - magic! A wonderful time to make full use of your phone camera. Get creative with angles, filters and settings.

As you know, I love to share phone photography tips. I took the shot above of my daughter and friends earlier today using my iPhone. I zoomed out to access the wide-angle setting (zoomed out to .5), which allowed me to get the distance I needed. Don't forget this wide-angle setting for selfies, too. It gives much more room to play with.

Another excellent tip is to use your smartwatch as a remote control for your phone camera. This is ideal for hands-free family portraits. Set up the phone wherever you like and get everyone in position. Then, tap your Smartwatch to snap the shot. It's so simple and effective.

Another tip is to use the Jpeg Max setting on your phone. If you want to really up your game when it comes phone-photography, use the Jpeg Max setting. This brings the shots to the highest resolution possible. Just tap on the screen to activate and it will maximise your phone camera's capabilities.

Keep an eye on my website and blog for more tips on phone photography.

Dare I mention the C word? I know, I know!... we aren't even past Halloween yet, but hear me out!

I can’t tell you how often customers have told me, 'Oh, I must do an extended family session and get all the grandchildren together!'. So here’s a little reminder to consider doing just that over Christmas and New Year when everyone’s home and together. I take bookings between Christmas and New Year on those quiet days, but these sessions book up fast. So, if you’re gathering together, consider booking me to do an extended family session. I cover everything - the big group shots, all the grandchildren, grandparent portraits, family groups... the whole shebang. Reach out to me and grab the date without delay. Not only will you all have pictures that last a lifetime, but the photography booking itself is a fabulous family experience full of laughter and fun.

I honestly hate mentioning Christmas gifting this early, but I promised myself last year that I would do it! After twelve years of experience, I finally realised that Christmas is just bonkers and starts on the first of November! Gift vouchers are always a really popular present, but people leave it to the very last minute, which adds pressure to me at the very last minute, too!

So, until the 31st of October, I am offering a 10% discount on photography gift vouchers (valid for use after Christmas). I hope this will encourage people to scratch one thing off their Christmas list early. (can be bought for yourself, your partner, grandparents etc.)

Don't forget the dog lovers!

I also offer Christmas PhoDOGraphy vouchers (yep, that's what they call it!)

Dog photography packages are for families WITHOUT children but with dog babies. These packages make perfect gifts. I'm very experienced in working with dogs, and I love my Dogtography bookings (yep, they call it that, too!!)

Please email me or WhatsApp for information on all packages and prices.

Three random things.....

  1. Please email me any orders or framing from your family photography session. Framing takes three weeks, so don't delay. I also have a gallery wall design service too, so reach out if you need professional help designing and organising a gallery wall for your home.

  1.  I came across a good app called Cleanup (free) that helps you organise and tidy up your phone pictures. Give it a try.

  1.  Here's an excellent YouTube channel for parents to subscribe to. It covers easy tech tips, keeping up with teen and children tech trends and includes phone photography and photo app info. link here https://www.youtube.com/@easylifetechtips?sub_confirmation=1

That's everything for now. Thanks for reading and I hope you found something helpful here. Best wishes to you and family and send me a message if you have any questions, requests or just to say hi :-)
